FEI Vaulting Guidelines 2026 - Click Here

A must read for everyone in the vaulting community and breaks down how the sport should be performed and judged. It contains information on the horse score, compulsory test elements, free test (freestyle) and artistic scores. The pictures of the compulsories are very beneficial for coaches and vaulters alike.

The last page (p.123) contains definitions of the letter codes that appear on scoresheets (e.g. CS=chair seat). These can also be found in the following link: Vaulting Judging Compulsory Codes - Click Here

Code of Points to the FEI Rules for Vaulting (2022) - Click Here

The code of points contains many common vaulting skills and is helpful when planning freestyles. It is an older document and is missing many newer skills, but it serves as a good source of inspiration.

The key take aways from it are the glossary (pp.4-6) structure groups (pp.7-10). These can serve as guide for learning some vaulting language (though some terms vary by location/club) and structure groups of skills. To see the list of required structure groups, see pp.87-88 of the FEI Vaulting Guidelines 2026. The code of points gives examples of different moves in these structure groups.
